Lot 21: 1976 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER SHADOW I

Much has been spent since the mid-1990s, with water pump, ignition components, track rod ends, brake discs and driveshaft UJ replaced and rear suspension receiving attention. More recently, a stainless exhaust was fitted and, every year and irrespective of mileage, oil and filter have been changed. The heater control valves were renewed only last year. We hear that it drives beautifully, pulling up without deviation under heavy braking. The mid to dark grey paintwork is still shiny, the roof trimmed in blue Everlex, and the original push-button radio and eight-track stereo still work. The 88,014 mileage displayed when entered is believed to be the genuine total. A `cherished' registration', 284 UKX, is included and therefore does not give away the year of manufacture. Some of these early Shadows have become extremely affordable of late, providing Rolls-Royce quality for virtually Mini money.
