Lot 670: 1994 Mercedes-Benz E220 Cabriolet

The introduction of the E200 and E220 models in 1992 made the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (E=‘Executive’) W124 bodyshell available with the smaller, more economical engines of ‘Compact’ C-Class. In keeping with Mercedes tradition, at the top of this particular model line-up were luxurious coupé and cabriolet models, in the E220’s case powered by a new 2.2-litre, 150bhp, 16-valve four. Produced between 1992 and 1997, the E220 Cabriolet was built in limited numbers in the traditional manner of classic Mercedes-Benz ‘soft-tops’, being one of the very best specified and most luxuriously equipped models in the range. Finished in pale blue metallic with matching fabric interior, this E220 Cabriolet boasts the standard power-operated hood and automatic transmission, and is equipped with AMG alloy wheels, factory-fitted wind deflector and top-quality Pioneer stereo sound system.
