Lancia’s Delta first appeared in 1979 and was a family-sized hatchback with equipment levels which marked it out as a pocket-sized luxury car. With sharp styling by Giurgiano of Ital Design, it had remarkable handling. There were several development changes but in 1986 the first HF 4WD appeared - which later became the integrale.
