Fiat launched one of its most successful models of recent times in 1983, the Uno. The Uno was the first of a new and improved range of Fiats that would start to loose the poor reputation for rust gained during the 1970's. The new Uno had clean, crisp styling penned by Giugiaro and featured a large glass area.
The standard Uno models had sparse trim and engines which ranged from just under 1.0 litre, right up to a 1.7 litre Diesel version. Fiat produced the Uno by the millions throughout the 1980s/90s, many being exported to the UK and the rest of Europe.
