Morris 1800/1800S MK III

Overview

Produced: 1972-1975, 23000 produced.
Types: Saloon, 4 doors, 5 seats

The unremarkable and last-of-the-line Morris 1800 Mk III entered production in 1972 along with the bigger engined 2200 models. The 1800 Mk III introduced a new front grille (now common with the near identical Austin version), redesigned facia layout and a centrally mounted handbrake.

The Morris 1800 Mk III stayed in production until the launch of the "wedge" shaped 18-22 series in 1975. These well built saloon cars were the last of the original BMC conceived cars made by the Leyland combine, illustrating brilliantly the complexity of the Leyland range of cars all jostling for the same market shares.
