Wolseley Six 18/22

Overview

Produced: 1975-1975, 3800 produced.
Types: Saloon, 4 doors, 6 seats

Probably the best looking and certainly most distinctive version of the BL "wedge shaped" Princess range appeared as part of the new 18/22 models launch in 1975, the Wolseley Six. The Six used the same wedge styled body as the other two Austin and Morris 18/22 cars and included the daft lidded boot arrangement (instead of a more practical hatch back).

The Six had a tiny, cut-down front grille (complete with illuminated badge!), plush velour seating, a comprehensive dashboard and niceties such as rear reading lamps. Sadly this model only survived for one year when it was superseded by the Princess along with the Morris 18/22. This departure also marked the end of Wolseley as a separate marque, joining the ranks of forgotten BMC makes such as Riley.
