The Fiat 1200 appeared for the first time at the Turin motor show in 1957. It was a replacement for the 1100TV and had a 1,221 cc engine giving 55 bhp at 5,300 rpm for a top speed of 87 mph (140 kph). The Fiat 1200 Granluce had a 1,089 cc engine bored out to 1,221 cc with an identical body to the 1100 except for the grille and two-tone paint finish.
