Rolls-Royce Camargue

Overview

Produced: 1975-1985, 531 produced.
Types:

When launched in 1975, the Rolls-Royce Camargue was known to be the most expensive production car in the world. The Camargue had a Silver Shadow platform/chassis, and the same 6.7 litre V8, although with slightly more power. The Camargue had unique, angular styling courtesy of Italian designer, Pininfarina. The 2 door bodies were hand built by R-R's coachbuilding division, Mulliner Park Ward at its London factory.

The Camargue had a wider Radiator Grille (which was angled slightly, a first for R-R!) and was the first car to feature split level, automatic air-conditioning which was highly effective. Only ever produced as a 2 door fixed head coupe and never as a Bentley, the Camargue struggles to fit into the rest of the R-R range and was never directly replaced. One Bentley Camargue was produced by special order. In total 531 cars were built, production finished in 1985.
