The final and ultimate production development of the Austin Healey 100/3000 range arrived in 1964, the 3000 Mk III. The Mk III now had even more power than before (150bhp) and even more luxury compared to earlier models.
Standard mechanical equipment now included a brake servo and twin trailing arms for the rear suspension. The biggest changes appeared inside the car, including a wood veneered dashboard, a centre console/gear surround and better seats. Unfortunately Austin Healey became a victim of the BMC rationalisation programme, sadly the 3000 was axed in 1968 to make way for the ill-fated MGC.
